Yeşim published its 12th Sustainability Report

Yeşim shared its 12th report regarding social compliance and responsibility activities carried out within the scope of the Global Compact with the public by issuing on the website of the United Nations. In the report, which was published in English and Turkish, the studies conducted in line with the principles of international agreements on human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption and the social responsibility activities carried-out voluntarily were taken place.

Yeşim Group CEO Şenol Şankaya, who said that they added a new one to the reports they have published on the global network since 2009 within the scope of the Global Principle Agreement (Global Compact), stated that they attach great importance to the social compliance and sustainability studies as the Group and have been reporting their work on this issue for many years. Şankaya, who reminded that Yeşim is the first ready-made clothing company in Turkey by signing the United Nations Global Principle Agreement (Global Compact) in 2006, continued as follows:

“Yeşim, which proceeds to its way with a sustainable production approach, is trying to implement the social compliance standards to its supplier companies by applying it at the highest level. Yeşim, which received the SA8000 certificate being the most prestigious social compliance certificate of the world in 2005, succeeded in being the first company in Turkey to receive this certificate in the textile and ready-made clothing sector and to ensure the continuity of this certificate for 16 years. 2020 was a difficult year in the shadow of the pandemic and we published the twelfth of our sustainability reports during the Covid-19 epidemic, which is the common problem of the whole world. In this process, we had the opportunity to see once again how important the 'People First' approach is for the world, which is a part of our corporate culture. Again, in this period, we witnessed together how priority is the preservation and protection of these values.
