Yeşim maintains its leading position in sustainability audits

Yeşim, which has adopted the principle of producing within the transparent and reliable conditions, continues to be audited by various independent organizations. Yeşim has recently completed the Oeko-Tex STeP and Higg Index Verification audits successfully achieving high scores.

Yeşim has the SA 8000 certificate which is the most prestigious certificate in social compliance. In 2015 by obtaining the Oeko-Tex STeP (Sustainable Textile Production) certificate which is one of the most important commitments of effectuating a sustainable production, Yeşim has become the first company that has this certificate in Turkey. Upon completion of these audits, Yeşim, whose certificate is valid until 31.01.2022, is entitled to remain at Level 3, which is acknowledged as the highest level. The Oeko-Tex STeP Certificate, which aims to keep the environment friendly production processes, quality management, safety and socially appropriate working conditions always present and implemented within the facilities in the field of textile, is offered to the companies which set an example in these subjects and which have integrated works.

Yeşim scored 76 on the Higg Index Verification (Environmental assessment), ranking 3 points above last year’s audit score. Thus, Yeşim had the chance to certify once again that it is an environmentally conscious global competent supplier, capable of meeting all production and social responsibility requirements, once more with the high scores achieved at a consecutive series of audits.

Yeşim has commissioned its in-house treatment plant back in the year 2000, currently having a daily water treatment capacity of 7 thousand metric tons. Aiming at becoming a role model for the industry both city wise and country wise, with new projects to be implemented in the future, in addition to numerous projects it has implemented in the past, as well as its waste management system which can be monitored online, Yeşim maintains its mission of being a “Green Plant” by renewing its ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 50001 Energy Management System certificates every year.
