Ministry of Labor and Social Security awarded Yesim

Yesim Textile was chosen the second best company in the contest, organized in the scope of “developing social gender equality in work life,” implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security Labor Directorate.

Yesim Textile, was chosen the second best company in the contest, organized in the scope of “developing social gender equality in work life,” implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security Labor Directorate. TURKCELL won the first place in the contest and Ford Otosan took the third place after Yesim Textile. In addition, many companies from Turkey participated in the contest, where such companies as Novartis, Unilever, Vodafone were awarded special jury award. Social Gender Equality Award Ceremony, participated by the Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk ÇELİK was held at Ankara Resat Moralı Meeting Hall at 14.00 on 12 May.

Yeşim Textile’s CEO Senol Sankaya received the award from the Parliament Men and Women Equal Opportunity Comission Chairman Azize Sibel Gonul. Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk ÇELİK was the first person to congratulate Şenol Sankaya.

Yeşim Textile’s CEO Senol Sankaya stated that they practiced positive discrimination principle for women at Yesim Textile and continued as follows: “More than 55% of our employees are female at Yesim Textile and currently 310 children attend the kindergarten, we have founded 26 years ago with a capacity of 1000 children, free of charge. Besides, Yesim Women’s and children’s club has been active for 15 years. In addition, we have a social responsibility project, named The World of Butterfly, which aims to increase the awareness of our female employees regarding health, legal rights and family/personal development, we have started last year. Slogan of this project, we implement along with Uludag Soroptimist Club, is “if woman changes, society changes. We believe that the Turkish society will improve as much as we improve our women.”
