Yeşim Textile lead the Women's Empowerment

On 30 November 2016, ILO, UN Population Fund, UN Women's Empowerment Department, TÜSİAD, TİSK, signatories of WEPs (the UN Women's Empowerment Principles) participated in the meeting of the Women's Empowerment Working Group held at the United Nations Turkey Office in Ankara with participation by representatives of companies, NGOs and municipalities. Within the framework of gender equality, the Working Group elected two co-chairs were, one female and one male.

Yeşim Textile Corporate Communications Manager Dilek Cesur who is also a member of Global Compact Turkey Executive Board since 2014 and Eczacıbaşı Holding Sustainability and Innovation Coordinator Ata Selçuk who also is an Executive Board member since 2016, were appointed as co-chairs with unanimity. Co-chairs will be leading the Women’s Empowerment efforts of the Working Group.
 
Founded in 2014, the Women's Empowerment Working Group and its agenda are among the priority issue areas of Global Compact Turkey. More than 50 companies, NGOs, municipalities and universities voluntarily participate in the working group which makes it the working group with most members within Global Compact Turkey.
