'Yeşim Textile Social Compliance Summit' was held recently at the conference hall of the company. Social requirements aiming at improving labor rights and working conditions in the textile industry were discussed at the summit highlighted with the motto, “We are together for a sustainable world”. Attended by customers, stakeholders and suppliers of Yeşim Textile, the summit inaugurated with the panel “Importance of social compliance in the textile industry”. Caner Soytaş, Director of Nike for Europe, the Middle Eastand Africa, Evre Kaynak, Senior Sourcing Compliance Officer of Esprit for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Burak Gagvalı, Sustainable Supply Chain Manager of C&A emphasized that social compliance will give a distinctive edge to individual companies and help their survival, at the panel moderated by Deniz Öztürk, Consultant to the Board of Directors of Global Compact.
In the afternoon session of the summit, after lunch break, İbrahim Yaşar, Legal Consultant of Nergis Holding and Mehmet Çiftçi, Provincial Deputy Director of İşkur from the Ministry of Labor made a presentation, giving examples from business life on the subject matter of the summit, accentuating the importance of social compliance in business life.
A mini play on social compliance was staged between speeches and presentations and 4 years old children from Yeşim Textile Nursery amused participants with a dance show.
